February will be a sad month for Dragon Ball fans. Hulu, one of the largest streaming services in North America, is about to lose much of its massive catalog of Dragon Ball-related programming.
Although an official announcement has yet to be made by Hulu on its main page, subscribers have noticed that various Dragon Ball shows, like Dragon Ball Super, list an expiration date for when these programs will no longer be available to stream. The official Hulu support account on X (formerly Twitter) has directly acknowledged the upcoming purge of Dragon Ball content on its service. Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super will soon be unavailable to stream on Hulu on Feb. 1, 2025.

Hulu Loses Streaming Rights to Several Big Dragon Ball Anime Series in February
Although these soon-to-expire Dragon Ball shows will end on Jan. 31, 2025, their departure is not currently listed on the platform's January 2025 schedule. It’s possible that the loss of these shows was a last-minute decision, and Hulu could be trying to renew its license before they’re taken off the service by the end of the month. Streaming services like Max have had moments where it was set to lose fan-favorite programming, only to renew its license to host them days later. Unless these programs have been delisted by their owner, it's always possible that Hulu might regain the rights to these Dragon Ball shows later in the year.
In the meantime, Hulu subscribers will still have some Dragon Ball content to keep them entertained in 2025. New and previous episodes of Dragon Ball Daima are still available on Hulu. According to a previous accidental leak by Hulu, Dragon Ball Daima Episode 20 will be the series' final episode. Dragon Ball Z Kai, the remastered and recut version of Dragon Ball Z from 2009, will also still be available to stream on the North American service. Finally, the 2018 anime movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly will continue to be available on Hulu as of writing. This fan-favorite movie reintroduced the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly into the series’ main and canonical timeline. It also featured nonstop exhilarating action between Broly, Goku, Vegeta and Gogeta.

Hulu removes its Dragon Ball Daima finale information from its February release list in the wake of a likely accidental leak.
Of course, Dragon Ball isn’t the only anime series available to stream on Hulu. The English dub of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 will make its highly anticipated premiere in February. The original Ranma 1/2 anime, Undead Unluck, Nisekoi and more are likewise available on the platform.
New episodes of Dragon Ball Daima air every Friday on Crunchyroll. The English dub, starring Stephanie Nadolny as Goku (Mini), has begun premiering one new episode per week from Jan. 10. "Goku and company were living peaceful lives when they suddenly turned small due to a conspiracy!" the series’ official description reads. "When they discover that the reason for this may lie in a world known as the 'Demon Realm,' a mysterious young Majin named Glorio appears before them."

Summary
Dragon Ball is the labor of writer/illustrator Akira Toriyama, beginning with Dragon Ball back in 1984. The series originally started as a serialized manga back in Weekly Shonen Jump for nearly a decade until it expanded into the anime franchises it is most known for today. Dragon Ball was later adapted into two animes, with one being Dragon Ball Z, the most universally known series in the entire Dragon Ball canon. The franchise has continued to expand lore via films, video games, and additional sequel TV series, such as the more recent Dragon Ball Super and Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Dragon Ball centers mostly around Son Goku, a being known as a Saiyan, and his friends as they face off against intergalactic threats and seek out the titular dragon balls. When all seven of these balls are collected, they can be used to summon a legendary dragon that can grant the wishes of whoever so gathers them. The Dragon Ball franchise continues to be one of the most well-known and beloved animes of all time, with over forty different countries airing it, and has had a tremendous impact on Western culture as a whole.
